Instructions on how to capture usb data from the Ergodex DX1

These instructions were written for HHD Software's USB Monitor 2.37

  • Install HHD Software's USB Monitor
  • Start it
  • Ensure your Ergodex DX1 is connected.
  • Select “File / New” from the menus.
  • Choose “USB Monitor” from the wizard, click “Next”
  • Find the Erodex DX1 that you want to monitor, it will appear as a USB HID Device AND as another device, e.g. “Ergodex Pad” or similar depending on which drivers your using, select the radio box next to the “Ergodex Pad” item, not the “USB HID Device” (unless you have programmed the device and want to check the keys are programmed correctly that is.)
  • Click “Next”
  • Enable the “Request View” visualizers, click “Finish”
  • The software will then be monitoring the pad, try pressing one of the buttons (not keys) on the device, you should see some data appears when you hold the buttons down and when you release them, also try starting the Ergodex Manager software and switching to other applications.

That's it!

Note that it's possible to run several instances of the USB Monitor, so you could monitor several devices or several interfaces of the same device. In the case of the Erogdex DX1 you can monitor the HID device as well as the Control device.
